Course description

Латинська мова(німецька,французька та іспанська філологія )
“Latin language” is an integral part of the disciplines of the humanitarian cycle. The study of Latin language is associated with special disciplines, without which the actual preparation of future philology specialists is impossible. Latin tokens have become widely used in languages ​​of all countries. The active assimilation of international vocabulary and phraseology is an important task of a philologist studying Latin. Studying Latin language not only reveals the history of word semantics, the word formation processes, but also contributes to the expansion of the general cultural and general-knowledge level of future specialists.Since Latin language of the classical period has reached the completion and systematic in the formation of morphological forms and syntactic constructions, it has become a standard, the norm of the literary language due to its expressiveness, exceptional laconicism and stylistic diversity. Thus, the discipline “Latin language” is a special link in the professional training of foreign language philologists.

Objective: To learn to read and translate Latin texts, work with the dictionary familiarize students with the ways and means of borrowing from Latin language and ancient culture.

 

Learning outcomes:

  • know:

Latin alphabet, phonetics, emphasis, normative grammar base, lexical minimum, student anthem Gaudeamus, proverbs and winged sayings.

  • be able to:

to read and translate Latin texts, make a morphological analysis of  Latin vocabulary within the grammatical course, familiarize students with the grammatical structure of Latin language and ways of word formation of scientific terms, preparation for independent scientific work, finding out the place of Latin language in the history of world culture.
